Cracking yearling colt by Universal Ruler, the sire of Ciaron Maher & David Eustace's recently retired G3 winner Bam’s On Fire. Our team thinks this colt has strength and quality. His dam, Queen of Ascot, is a winner and three-quarter sister to CMR's own Crystal Bound who recently sold to Coolmore for $1.05 million at the Magic Millions Broodmare sale. Crystal Bound famously broke the two-year-old track record as a six-length winner at The Valley in her first start. She returned as a three-year-old to take out the Listed Cap D’Antibes Stakes at Flemington and was also runner-up to Jamaea in the G2 Percy Sykes Stakes.
 

Queen of Ascot is by leading broodmare sire Redoute’s Choice and out a mare by another leading broodmare sire in Zabeel mare Crystalised. She sold for $400,000 in foal to Maurice at the recent Magic Millions Broodmare sale to the Lucky Vega Syndicate.
 

Queen of Ascot’s dam, Crystalised, is a G3-performed city winner and a half to three Group winners in Run Like The Wind, Joy, and Fun and most notably Zarita who won both the G1 SA Derby and G1 SAJC Oaks along with winning five G2s and placing at Group level another five times.

 

The colt has successfully been broken in and has entered full training at Ballarat.  

 

The colt will be trained by Ciaron Maher & David Eustace the most pre-eminent training partnership in Australia. With the Ballarat training facilities (that Ciaron believes to be amongst the best in the world). Cranbourne and Sydney. With a custom-made pre-training and spelling operation at Pakenham and hand-picked beach facilities at Balnarring, Ciaron truly believes he has the team and the facilities to be among – if not the – best training operations in Australia.
