SIRE - TAGALOA

Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes winner, Tagaloa was a top-class juvenile renowned for his speed, toughness and competitiveness throughout his two-year-old season. He is a son of champion sire Lord Kanaloa, the dual Group 1 Hong Kong Sprint winner and one of the most influential speed sires of modern times.

Tagaloa has made an outstanding start at stud, already producing stakes winners and performers, including our own Group 2 fillies classic winner Salty Pearl, trained by Ciaron Maher. Having enjoyed firsthand success with Tagaloa progeny, it was a natural decision to reinvest in the right type when this filly presented herself.

DAM - MAUI GIRL (Lope de Vega)

This filly is out of the talented Lope de Vega mare Maui Girl, a three-time winner, multiple metropolitan placed, and stakes-performed, finishing fourth in Group 3 company. A genuine race mare, she combined durability with class at city level.

The pedigree is underpinned by a strong and proven female line. The second dam, Run For Naara, was a high-class race mare, winner of the Listed VRC Gibson Carmichael Stakes and placed in multiple Group races, including third in both the Group 1 Australian Oaks and Group 1 Rosehill Guineas.

She is also a half-sister to Casino Fourteen, further strengthening the depth of this family.

Importantly, the breeder and original owner have elected to retain an interest in the filly, a strong endorsement of her quality and long-term potential.

THE FILLY

Physically, she is athletic, well-balanced and forward, with clean limbs and a fluent, efficient action. She stretches out well when she moves, showing traits that strongly reflect the qualities of her sire, speed, strength and athleticism.

She profiles as a precocious, early-running filly, ideally suited to a 2YO campaign and expected to follow a similar pathway to Salty Pearl, while still offering scope to continue improving with maturity.

As a quality filly, she also carries residual broodmare value, adding an important layer of long-term appeal to ownership.
