HQ Brian Hibberd

Brian has been in the racing industry for more than forty years as a professional Jockey riding over 1,000 winners in New Zealand and Australia. Of these, 16 were at Group One level and 123 at Group 2, 3 and Listed including the VRC Derby, AJC Oaks, BRC Brisbane Cup, Phar Lap Stakes, J J Liston Stakes, Rupert Steele (Gilgai) Stakes, Dalgety Hcp, Railway & Telegraph Hcp, Geelong & Cranbourne Cups and 5 New Zealand Cups. Brian retired from race riding in 2005 and took up the role of Assistant Starter in Christchurch (NZ). He moved to Melbourne in 2011 to ride trackwork for Champion Trainer Peter Moody and also served as a traveling rider accompanying horses that were targeted at races in Sydney and Brisbane. After Peter Moody's retirement from training Brian accepted a role at Caulfied Racecourse as a Training Track Supervisor and currently rides part-time for the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace stables. Brian has a wealth of experience in racing and his in-depth knowledge and understanding of the industry. We are very pleased to announce that Brian has agreed to join the Starblue ’s team as a Racing Consultant and Bloodstock Manager, and will be based out of our Melbourne office. Brian's wealth of knowledge will prove an invaluable advantage to our Clients with every purchase and management decision benefiting from his thorough scrutiny and approval.
